The extensive forested areas at the Technion increase the risk of wildfires. To mitigate this, in addition to carefully selecting and planting fire-resistant tree species, operational measures are in place to prevent fire spreading. The path we are on is designated as a fire barrier path – a wide corridor that cuts through the forest, creating a buffer zone to slow the spread of fires. Additionally, this path serves as a safe and efficient access route for fire trucks in emergencies.
