Located across from the obelisk, is another prominent Technion landmark that has evolved over the years. Originally constructed in the 1960s, the building has undergone extensive renovations and expansions. It now serves around 4,000 students daily with its classrooms, student shops, services, cafés, the computer farm, galleries, and more. In the past, an underground tunnel connected the Ullmann Building to Beit HaStudent, the student village. More recently, a light floor was added to the northern block on which solar panels were installed, the building was reinforced to withstand earthquakes, and additional elevators were added.
