As a ‘forest city’ with extensive wooded areas, the Technion faces a significant risk of wildfires.

To enhance safety and ensure a stable water supply, the Technion aims to be self-sufficient in water storage and distribution. As part of this effort, one of the two water reservoirs on campus was constructed in this location, providing both an immediate response to potential fires and a reliable source of drinking water.
